The Wednesdays.for.Water session on, ‘Participatory Watershed Management:Strategy for Sustainable Development' focus is on the implementation and impacts of the participatory alias community approaches to traditional combined with contemporary watershed conservation and management. The session speakers are Sandip Jadhav from Watershed Organisation Trust (WOTR) (https://wotr.org/) and Jayant Patil. Both the speakers highlight the opportunties of working with the people, the new techniques, the learning curves for the stakeholders and for them. Sumran S Gurjar is the discussant of the session and shares the experience of his village (and surroundign villages) in implementing the community watershed management practices and the positive impacts it has had in attaining water sustainability, increased yield, livelihood opportunties, and empowerment besides, poverty alleviation and reduced migration. Very motivating to hear from Sumran.

The session is hosted by Dr Mansee Bal Bhargava from the house of WforW.
