Post-Match Commentary :
China won almost all matches in 2003, the only matches they lost were vs Brazil and Russia in Grand Prix preliminary round. Lost to Brazil made China almost cannot enter final 6. But end-up Brazil lost to South Korea unexpectedly and the Brazilian coach was fired and Guimarães was appointed afterwards.
Korean squad used 'zero-error' tactics. Serves were safe and attack very carefully. If blockers there, they just pass the ball safely to opponent court. What they played was sneaky volleyball. In 1st set, this tactics worked fine. Chinese kept making mistakes made the score very close. But China adjusted in 2nd set and #8 Zhao Ruirui (22yo, 1.97m) and #7 Zhou Suhong (24yo, 1.82m) were unbeatable in this match. Korea unable to defence both of their attacks. In 2nd set, Korea tactics didn't work as their 1st pass were too bad and they lost very quickly. However, this Korean squad had won Brazil 3:0 days after.
