Songs from women's history: Battle Hymn of the Republic (beginner fiddler and guitar)

This month's theme in my adult-starter / beginner fiddler group is to learn and play songs written or performed by women. I've decided to work on “Battle Hymn of the Republic” (lyrics by Julia Ward Howe in 1861), a patriotic song written during the American Civil War, which became an enduring anthem to promote the abolition of slavery. Howe joined Lucy Stone in founding the American Woman Suffrage Association (AWSA), which championed the Fifteenth Amendment. This is our very first time trying to play this. I play by ear so I wasn't sure what I was doing. By the end of of the month, I'm sure this will sound much better.
