The Charming Back Alleys of Janitzio, a special Island in Michoacán, Mexico. After we went to Morelia and Quiroga in a former video, we are going to this unique island, near Pátzcuaro. If you wonder what Janitzio is like, it is a little town on an island in the middle of a lake in the sate of Michoacán. For those who don’t know, Janitzio was one of the Mexican cultural influences for the amazing Pixar movie Coco.

Visiting Janitzio became our first interesting experience in the places we visited in Mexico, with a little more confidence to enjoy as to the covid situation. To get there you had to take a boat from Pátzcuaro. Once on the island we did a classical way up the island on the main road, but during this I really wanted tog et lost in more little streets outside the main avenue, which we did afterwards on our way down. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the town in its back alleys. I didn’t manage this time to make an encounter with the locals, but I felt a beginning of such a process being slowly put in place for future videos!

In those vlogs, you can follow us as we travel as a couple. This is the third episode of a series of videos in Mexico during the covid pandemic. You will see how we are traveling ourselves as safely as possible. As a country with no covid restriction, Mexico is one of the few of its kind in the world as of March 2021. But it is like any other place, you must be careful and use a lot of hand sanitizer.
