The Animal World (1956) - "The Prehistoric Sequence"

Описание к видео The Animal World (1956) - "The Prehistoric Sequence"

The Animal World was a film investigating the wonders of an array of creatures from butterflies to whales. Presented here is the unquestioned highlight; a 10-minute stop-motion recreation of prehistoric life, featuring an adorable baby Brontosaurus, a terrifying death-match between a Stegosaurus and a Ceratosaurus, a confrontation between Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus rex, as well as a host of unfortunate dinosaurs trapped by molten lava. The animators behind the segment are the legendary Ray Harryhausen and Willis O'Brien.

NOTE: Many elements here are now known to be inaccurate, including dinosaurs dragging their tails, the implication that they didn't care for their young, and showing Stegosaurus during the Cretaceous mass extinction event, which is now knows to be primarily caused by an asteroid rather than volcanic activity.
