A brain aneurysm is a weak or thin spot on a blood vessel in the brain that bulges or balloons out. It can rupture, causing bleeding in the brain (hemorrhagic stroke). Treatment options include observation, endovascular coiling, and surgical clipping. It is important to identify an aneurysm before it ruptures in order to prevent a life-threatening bleed in the brain.
