STORY
While driving through a quaint village on the outskirts of Paris, we stumbled upon an intriguing, abandoned manor that seemed to have been forgotten for ages. Drawn by curiosity, we took a closer look and uncovered its unique and captivating history.
This manor was once the cherished home of Jean-Paul, a man originally from New York. During World War II, he was sent to France, where he met and fell in love with Petra, who would become his wife. After the war, Jean-Paul decided to stay in France, turning his passion for postage stamps into a thriving business.
Thanks to his success, Jean-Paul and Petra were able to buy this magnificent 1876 manor near Paris. Every room in the house was beautifully decorated, filled with cherished memories, treasured artifacts, and elegant furniture. Here, they raised a loving family and lived their entire lives together.
As time passed, however, the manor's story began to fade. In 2017, the house fell silent when Jean-Paul, its last resident, passed away. Though he had children, none returned to claim or care for the house, leaving it abandoned—a poignant reminder of the vibrant lives once lived within its walls.
Many questions remain about this beautiful home: Where did Jean-Paul's children go after his passing? Why are all their precious memories still left behind?
