This is the 1st of a 2 part video presentation designed for fellow hobbyists looking to assist animal shelters in automatically creating adoptable animal webpages with the data entered into Petfinder. The obvious benefit to the shelter saving duplicate entry/effort!
Part 1 will focus on getting the api key/secret from the petfinder developer site & the using it to obtain a “token” to pull the json data for use on the site.
Part 2 will focus on taking the data & creating a very simple web page with jquery to display the adoptable animals of the shelter. An example of the code in use with bootstrap can be found at http://www.purringpals.org/.
I initially wrote code to pull xml data from the 1st API but had to revise my code to work with json to accommodate the new api specs.
