Описание к видео Mast Cell Pathophysiology Beyond Allergies

In this presentation, Dr. Theoharis Theoharides, a Professor, Vice Chair of Clinical Immunology, and Director at the Institute for Neuro-Immune Medicine (Clearwater), dives deep into the pathophysiology of mast cells beyond their well-known role in allergic responses.

Dr. Theoharides provides a historical overview of mast cell research, explains where and how mast cells function in the body, and outlines the three main categories of mast cell disorders, including their corresponding diagnostic codes. He also explores the role of histamine, common triggers of mast cell activation, and the wide range of conditions now associated with mast cell dysfunction.

Additionally, Dr. Theoharides highlights key physical and clinical signs that may suggest mast cell activation, offers insights on helpful diagnostic tests, and shares practical approaches for managing symptoms at home, including medications and supplements that may provide relief.
