Stambheshwar Mahadev Temple, also known as the Submerging temple in sea, is one of the most unusual Shiva shrines in India.
Stambheshwar Mahadev Temple the Disappearing temple of Gujarat is situated in Kavi Kamboi, Gujarat.This 150 year old Shiva Shrine is flanked by the Arabian Sea on one side and the Bay of Cambay on the otherside. According to Kumarika khand in Skand Purana, this Shiva lingam was established by Bhagwan Kartikeya after he killed Tarkasura. What makes this Shiva lingam unique is that it can be seen only during low-tide hours. At high tide, it totally disappears, so this temple also called disappearing temple of Mahadev.
