After completing Redmoor Peaks trails 1 and 2, it was natural that 3 had to come next. Like always, the game once again showed its best; my first attempt two days ago ended in bitter disappointment after I decided to end the run after section 5. I had gathered more than 4000 crashes already in that run and just couldn't land the infamous "log jump" no matter how many times I tried. It led to such a bitter feeling that I simply decided to end that run right there, without ever finishing the run using safer routes. That explains the odd old personal bests seen in my video; in sections 1-5 I already had a decent times from my first attempt but in sections 6 and 7, as well as total time I was able to do huge improvements because I didn't make it so far earlier.

I was left with anger and frustration after the failed attempt, and for some time I thought I'd give up with the game entirely. Time, however, restored my faith and two days later I decided to try again. This time the run was much smoother, and I even survived with "very little crashes" by my standards.

I feel I must talk more about the log jump; that is in the section 6, so you can skip to [1:08] to watch it. The jump is notoriously difficult to do, as getting a proper bounce from the log is rare. But the real challenge is crossing the island with another bounce, and that is something you can't really control - basically you just have to cross your fingers and hope for the best. After all, I'm very pleased with my result, even if I could probably still increase my time on some sections (section 3 especially). But this is still the first top 3 run in my "career", so it just feels good.

All gameplay on this video was played on PC with Steam, controlling with keyboard only (no external controllers).
