Ingredients:

300 grams dried apricots
Hot water for soaking
3 teaspoons custard powder

1/2 liter milk (for custard)
1/3 cup sugar (for apricot pulp)
1 cup whipping cream
1 tablespoon sugar (for whipping cream)
30 grams plain sponge cake
Assorted dry fruits for garnish (e.g., almonds, pistachios, etc.)
Detailed Process:

Begin by taking the dried apricots and placing them in a bowl. Pour hot water over the apricots until they are fully submerged. You can either soak them for 1 hour in hot water or leave them to soak overnight in normal water for enhanced flavor and softness.

In a separate cup, take 3 teaspoons of custard powder and mix it with 1/3 cup of milk. Stir well until the custard powder dissolves completely.

Take a pan and add 1/2 liter of milk to it. Heat the milk on medium heat and bring it to a gentle boil.

Slowly pour the custard mixture prepared earlier into the pan of boiling milk, stirring continuously to ensure a smooth and even consistency. Avoid making the custard too thick; maintain a light consistency. Once done, set the custard aside to cool.

In another pan, transfer the soaked apricots along with any remaining water. Add 1/3 cup of sugar to the pan. Cover it with a lid and let the apricots cook until they become soft and tender.

Once the apricots are fully cooked, remove them from the pan and place them in a jar or blender. Blend the apricots until you achieve a smooth pulp-like consistency.

In a separate bowl, add 1 cup of whipping cream and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Whip the cream until it forms soft peaks. Be cautious not to over-whip, as you want a gentle, soft texture.

Take the plain sponge cake and cut it into thin, flat pieces.

Now, it's time to assemble all the components. Take a large serving bowl and begin layering the dessert. Start with a layer of the apricot pulp, followed by a layer of the cut sponge cake pieces, then add a layer of whipped cream, and finally, pour the cooled custard over the top.

Sprinkle some assorted dry fruits, such as almonds or pistachios, over the custard layer for added flavor and visual appeal.

Repeat the layering process one more time for an extra delicious dessert.

Cover the bowl with a lid or cling wrap and place it in the refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours to chill and set the flavors.
