I made this video from a presentation and other videos to teach fish farmers how this system works so well. This new method called In-Pond Raceway System, IPRS, can double or triple the yields of conventional pond aquaculture in a sustainable way that conserves water resources.

The video is intended to facilitate proper adoption and avoid mistakes if farms decide how to DIY and build their own IPRS for their farm. The IPRS, rather than powering through potential difficulties, gently works with the natural pond aquaculture principles in an energy-efficient and feed-efficient manner. Part of the success is also attributed to the use of soy-based ingredients as a major protein source. It produces healthier fish faster and more economically than conventional intensive pond aquaculture methods. The IPRS is not a new technology in itself but it is a smart combination of existing aquaculture principles.

This video was sponsored by the United Soybean Export Council (USSEC) Middle East and North Africa Region (MENA) for use in training farmers about this unique method. It is published here with permission.

Rather than break the lengthy video (1 hour 50 minutes) apart into smaller sections there is a Table of Contents with timestamps to designate the major and minor subsections. This will help you navigate to any particular section of interest. Or if you just want a 4-minute Introduction to the IPRS check out this video:    • Introduction to Sustainable In-Pond R...

Over fifty years ago, I built a raceway system on the family farm. It had some of the same principles but was not profitable. The new IPRS design is much more efficient and profitable. In just seven years since a 3-cell IPRS demonstration was built in China in 2013 over 6500 raceways were built all over the country. Other countries are adopting this profitable system for culturing almost any species of fish that takes pelleted feed.

I hope you learn something from this educational video and .... as the YT algorithms dictate.... feel free to:
