Shrutinandan Presents ‘Gane Gane Durga Puja’ – A bouquet of Devotional songs, celebrating all the events of the great Durga Puja Festival of Bengal.
“Jagajanani Jai Jai” is a Song of the waving ceremony with lamp-lights and incense-pots before the image of goddess Durga, sung by Kaushiki Chakrabarty.

The Meaning of the song:
Devotees sing with syllables of triumph-cry in the name of the omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient world-mother Devi Durga popularly loved as the saviour and protector to her unknowing children from all odds, fears, sorrows, misfortunes and even from being carried away with wicked thoughts. They are amazed at the appearance of their adorable mother-grace in two different images – one as timeless Kali in her wild frenzy beside all burning pyres of the crematoriums and again in contrast a very soft and comely refuge giving away boons and fortunes to her hapless children. Before this charitable image of the universal mother-grace even a wretched one or a crafty one stands with folded hands praying that her merciful self takes him in her kindly haven.
