TRAGIC BLAZE: NEWLY BUILT HOME UNDER PMAY SCHEME REDUCED TO ASHES IN IKIESINGRAM

On the night of October 1, 2024, around 10:30 pm, two houses belonging to Mr. Rachu Pame of Ikiesingram village were destroyed by a suspected electrical short circuit. One of the houses was newly constructed under the PM Awas Yojana Scheme and was awaiting final verification. At the time, the family was at the father's mother's house, half a kilometer away, caring for her after a stroke. Most villagers were asleep and only realized the fire was occurring when they heard the roofs collapsing. Everything inside the houses, including food, clothes, and essentials, was lost. Mr. Pame expressed concern about how to proceed with the PMAY verification process for the house that has now been completely destroyed.
