With the nation under turmoil and all the negatively people of color have been receiving I feel it’s my duty to promote unity, which I believe is more important than it’s ever been. Black represents power, renewal, growth, and change. This song illustrates that, This song isn’t about being better but simply requesting equality for all people. This song stand up to the tyrant that is racism. C-Bo speaks on situations of the past and make a clear statement that he isn’t sitting back any longer allowing it to go on (I am off the bench) this is very powerful line and should speak volumes to the soul of anyone who has ever felt poorly treated and decided to stand up and say NO enough is enough. Sinic speaks on the devastation of racism ( cops killing blacks and we can’t shake the lost) another powerful lyric in this song referring to unarmed people of color being gunned down by law enforcement and families will forever be broken losing someone by to a system that was meant to protect us. This is one of the most powerful songs I’ve heard in in decades.
