This video essay is an analysis about what experiences moved to become attached to fighting games. I've found that most of us have had a simiplar "origin story", from playing your little cousins and friends, all the way to winning in a tournament.

In the video, I use traditional sports in order to make a comparison with eSports, in order to make the substance more relatable for people outside the fighting game community.
