The process continues to move forward on the Ford Capri race car project but as is always the case things got a tiny bit complicated. The 1974 Ford Capri vintage road race car IS going to come back to life with a 2.8 liter Cologne V6 however we're not entirely sure exactly how yet. We have some ideas but we're hunting the pieces and parts to make it happen.

In this video we dive into the 1976 Ford Capri donor car we purchased up in Michigan a few weeks back. Now, unfortunately the MK and MK II Capris share almost nothing in common however... there's a motor and a 4 speed V6 transmission hiding in this thing we NEED. We know next to nothing about the state of the engine and trans so in order to see just what we've got we've got to take it all apart. Unfortunately not all of that goes overly well and much of what we find is... less than great.

At this point the plan for the first motor to go in this car is a higher compression 2.8 V6 with larger valves, some non EGR heads worked a little bit, and using the 4 barrel Holley 390cfm on top of the Offenhauser 4 barrel intake manifold. We DO have a set of heads that are good, but we actually need a set of rebuildable early heads in stock form so... fingers crossed!

Since purchasing the "original" race car chassis from Kevin of Junkyard Digs this project has spiraled completely out of control. We know that. We own it. We advise no one to do what we do. But we're going to show you every crazy step along the way!
