When aircraft land, things can get a little busy, especially at RAF Lakenheath. Lakenheath has four EOR (End of Runway), a parking area where Crew Chiefs and Ground Crew can do their vital checks on their aircraft. But how do you get F-15Es to park so perfect for the checks? The answer, by Marshalling. Now, Marshalling an F-15 involves a ground crew member using standardized hand signals (or some cool wands) to visually guide the pilot for parking but also marshalling for safe taxiing and takeoff, controlling turns, speed, and stops because cockpit visibility is limited, with military variations including "creative marshalling" for morale, requiring intense precision and communication to prevent collisions on the tarmac. Pretty cool huh?
