How to Contribute to Society | Ibragim Kazhigaliyev | TEDxKIMEP

Описание к видео How to Contribute to Society | Ibragim Kazhigaliyev | TEDxKIMEP

The speech by Ibragim outlines how humanity can help and contribute to society in the best possible way , the speech offers a three-step plan for making a meaningful contribution to society. It starts by stressing that helping others starts with improving oneself. This is followed by a discussion on the value of empathy in recognising and attending to the needs of individuals receiving assistance. The last phase emphasises how important it is to choose the right “target audience” to whom one may sell their abilities and services. Using personal capabilities as a metaphor for a salesman's goods, the speech emphasises how important it is to use one's ability to help others. In the end, it invites listeners to consider how they personally can contribute to society. Greetings everyone! My name is Kazhigaliyev Ibragim and I am a first-year student at Kimep University, majoring in international law. I have a strong background in public speaking, having been named the Best Speaker at the World Scholars Cup in 2019 and 2022, as well as being a Global Round qualifier in WSC, and the Best Speaker at the Kimep Grant National Debate competition in 2023. I chose this topic because, in 11th grade, I was faced with the question, "What can I do to contribute to society and how can I do it effectively?" At BIL, where I studied, my teachers and tutors emphasized the importance of this duty. Their passion and eagerness to help others left a lasting impression on me and inspired me to find ways to contribute to society in the most effective way possible. I am grateful for the opportunity to share my thoughts on this topic with an audience, thanks to Kimep University and Tedx. I am looking forward for your active support! This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
