We’re honored to share Emily’s inspiring journey in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Emily, a cancer survivor, knew it was time to enhance her prosthetic care after spending years struggling to find a well-fitting prosthesis. Traveling from South Carolina to our facility in New York, she embarked on a new chapter in her life with a custom-made rotationplasty prosthesis.

Rotationplasty is a unique surgery where her lower leg and foot were rotated 180 degrees and her tibia was fused to her femur, allowing her ankle to function as a knee. 💪 This type of procedure can offer patients remarkable mobility, but requires a highly specialized prosthesis and a experienced prosthetist to fit it. With her improved fit, Emily now enjoys a greater range of motion, highlighting the importance of proper prosthetic alignment for comfort and functionality.
