Following the death of 14 children in Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh, due to suspected renal failure caused by Coldrif cough syrup, the district administration has formed a special team of three doctors and three executive magistrates to monitor the treatment of affected children. Additional DM Dheerendra Singh said the team is closely tracking the condition of all patients while regular updates are being provided by medical and administrative units.

The Madhya Pradesh government has banned the sale of Coldrif syrup after tests revealed 48.6% diethylene glycol, a highly toxic compound, in the samples. Authorities are continuing investigations to ensure accountability and prevent further incidents.
