I have recently gotten an Alexa device in the house. I was having a lot of fun with it. I have it near my bed so I can use it as an alarm clock, and get some information such as weather from it. Since the controller is by my bed, I looked into what else I could do with it. I found out a little bit more about home automation. It seemed interesting, and after doing some research, I came across the Smart Plug Mini Outlet, Works with Amazon Alexa Echo, No Hub Required, WiFi Wireless Energy Monitoring, Remote Control your Devices from Anywhere, ETL Listed Timing Kuled K63(1pack). This was exactly what I was looking for. It's a device that I can plug into my wall, and then plug a light into it. Now, when I'm ready to go to bed, I can just tell Alexa to turn off my light, and this device does it for me. The smart plug was easy to setup. I downloaded an app to my phone that let me assign the device the house wifi and what I want it to be called for the Alexa skill. After that, I went into the Alexa app, and assigned that skill to it. That was it. It's was all set up after that. This smart plug does everything it's supposed to, and does it with a fast and easy setup.
