Today my grandma and I are taking you behind the scenes to see exactly how she makes her authentic lehmeyun’s from scratch (also known as lahmajoun’s, Armenian Pizza’s).

This is a recipe that she’s crafted to perfection over the years, and my family and I look forward to her making this all the time. It is one of our favorite recipes from my grandma, and we wanted to document it to cherish this delicious masterpiece.

Ingredients: The following is to make 12 lehmeyun’s. Adjust accordingly based on how many you want to make.

The Dough -
3.5g active dry yeast
Dash of sugar
½ cup warm water
2 cups flour
2 tbsp sea salt
¼ cup margarine (not butter)

The Filling -
1 yellow onion
1 bunch of parsley
½ green pepper
3 roma tomatoes
1.5 lb of ground sirloin (or 85/15 ground beef)
3 tbsp tomato paste
Black pepper
Crushed red pepper
Adobo (basil, oregano and thyme)
½ cup crushed tomato
