The Manon Quartet was formed in 2013 by musicians from the Royal College of Music in London. Shortly after, they were first prize winners at both the RCM Helen Just & Susan Connell String Quartet Competition and the Cavatina Intercollegiate String Quartet Competition in 2014. Since then, they have performed at many venues across the UK, including the Wigmore Hall and the Elgar Room at the Royal Albert Hall. They were invited to give recitals at the Chipping Campden Music Festival and the Lake District Summer Music Festival. Most recently, they attended the Tunnell Trust Chamber Music Course on the Isle of Coll in Scotland.

The quartet’s commitment to contemporary music allows them to work with composers and perform many new works. In 2014, they collaborated with the renowned Australian composer and violist Brett Dean to perform his piece ‘Epitaphs’ for string quintet at the Royal College of Music. In 2015, they took part in the 840 Series: New music for String Quartet curated by Alex Nikiporenko and Nicholas Peters, which enabled them to work with and perform new works by six different composers. In January 2017, the quartet will be presenting George Crumb's 1970 masterpiece 'Black Angels' as part of of RCM’s ‘From the Soundhouse’ series.

The Manon Quartet has worked with distinguished chamber musicians such as Christoph Richter, Pavel Fischer, Simone Fontanelli, Garfield Jackson, Mark Messenger, Simon Rowland-Jones and members of the Carducci, Vogler, Fine Arts and Chilingirian Quartets.
