Yogyakarta is a bustling town of some half a million people and the most popular tourist destination on Java, largely thanks to its proximity to the temples of Borobudur and Prambanan. The town is a hub of art and education, offers some good shopping and has a wide range of tourist facilities. This city feels soothing and welcoming. As for nature, the region has various types of landscapes. That means visitors can explore both natural attractions and downtown freely during the visit.

Alun-alun is a large, central, open lawn square common to villages, towns, and cities in Indonesia. Alun-alun Utara (Alun-alun Lor) is a square located in the north of Keraton Palace. Like the square in general, this location is also often a place for people to gather for various activities, including entertainment, government, and culture. Alun-alun Selatan (Alun-alun Kidul) is a square located in the south of Keraton Palace. In terms of nuance, it varies depending on the time of the visit.
