A key and very important component in evolutionary theory is the age of the earth and the universe. While biblical chronology implies the world is only a few thousand years old, evolutionary theory teaches that the world is billions of years old. Actually evolution needs that amount of time for the supposed evolutionary chance processes to work. If the world is young there is absolutely no time for evolution to occur (not to mention the many other insurmountable problems against the theory).

Over an eight-year period Retired Associate Professor of Physics, inventor and former atheist Dr. Russell Humphreys and a team of seven other young-earth creationist scientists from several scientific disciplines conducted a research project dubbed Radioisotopes and the Age of the Earth (RATE). The findings of the research project have brought into serious question the long evolutionary ages of earth history taught as fact to the public while corroborating the biblical timescale which the public is taught to disbelieve by the advocates of evolution in academia and the media. The RATE research was reported at the fall 2003 meeting of the American Geophysical Union in San Francisco, California.

Dr. Humphreys presented some of these findings and other evidences for a young world in his opening lecture at the inaugural "Back to the Beginning" series of free public lectures hosted by Project PROBE Ministries at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, Barbados, West Indies on Thursday September 10, 2015.
