Ed’s story begins in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, but it’s a story that quickly expands to span the globe. After a distinguished 25-year career as an officer in the Canadian military, he retired in 2011—but that was merely the end of one chapter and the beginning of another.

He is the founder and Board President of International Children's Awareness, an international NGO that has been tackling deep-rooted development issues for over three decades. Since 1994, their focus has been in Cameroon, where they are currently building two new schools and providing communities with essential water systems and health clinics.

Ed’s boots-on-the-ground experience is profound. He served as a United Nations Military Observer in the volatile regions of Sudan and South Sudan, and then stayed on for four more years to work on development, specifically bringing water to arid regions as displaced populations returned home after years of conflict.

His commitment to rebuilding extends even further back, with over 20 years of work in Romania following the fall of Ceaușescu, where he helped guide the nation through its post-revolution transition.

So, while Ed may tell you he has 'no academic credentials,' what he possesses is something far rarer: a lifetime of proven leadership, building humanity and infrastructure in some of the world's most challenging environments.
