Howdy ya’ll. In my last video we focused on different cast-iron structures founded throughout the streets of Paris in the 19th century, with our focus being on structures labeled as “restrooms”. Going hand-in-hand with those creations are the vast assortment of cast-iron lamps and lights being founded in Paris during the same time period.

Today we will look through roughly 50 photographs of unique cast-iron lights founded in Paris during the 19th century. The anomaly being that all of these lights are said to be gas-powered. We will also briefly address the complexity of gas-powered lighting - but the ingenuity is best seen through the photographs.

This is some of the finest Antiquitech, or ancient technology, that we can focus on from the Old World, and these immense and complicated lights really do raise more questions than answers. Let’s dive into all of the history, photographs, and theories regarding Cast-Iron Lights in Paris!
