Donald Trump has caught up with Kamala Harris in a new NBC poll, with both candidates holding 48% of the vote among registered voters. The poll, conducted Oct. 4-8, shows Trump gaining favor while Harris is losing support. That’s a significant change from the September poll, where Harris led by 5%. In an expanded poll that includes third-party voters, Trump leads 47% to Harris’s 46%, with 7% of voters undecided or favoring other candidates.
The change could be due to Republicans shifting back to Trump and Harris’s declining support, who, despite a surge in positive media coverage after formally announcing her candidacy in July, is now losing support. According to NBC, her favorability has fallen from +3% in September to -6% in October, while Trump’s has improved from -13% to -8%.
The situation in key battleground states remains tense, and the outcome of the upcoming election will depend on voter turnout in the coming weeks. Third party support could also play a major role in the outcome of the vote. Stay tuned to see how the balance of power changes ahead of the 2024 election.
