1996 - 2020 GM Car Van or Truck Accessory Power Outlet / Cigarette Lighter Socket Removal & Tool Use

Описание к видео 1996 - 2020 GM Car Van or Truck Accessory Power Outlet / Cigarette Lighter Socket Removal & Tool Use

In this short video we'll learn how to remove an accessory power outlet (aka cigarette lighter socket or auxiliary power outlet) from its retaining bezel on the dash. This is best accomplished with a special tool for GM vehicles designed for this purpose, after you pull the fuse for the outlet or disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent a short circuit from inserting the tool of course. The vehicle illustrated is a 2007 Pontiac G5 sedan, but the tool and procedure to remove the accessory power outlet / cigarette lighter socket / auxiliary power outlet applies to most every General motors car van or truck from 1996 thru today. So whether you have a Chevrolet, GMC, Pontiac, Buick, Cadillac, Oldsmobile, or Saturn car truck or van this video should help you perform this DIY repair and get your cigarette lighter socket replaced / accessory power outlet replaced / auxiliary power outlet replaced.

The eBay and Amazon search links below are paid links, for which I may be compensated and earn a commission, if you choose to buy the parts and tools shown in this video thru them:

If you're looking to buy either the Kent-Moore J42059 or OTC 2549 (professional) or DIY versions (Dorman or APDTY) of this tool: https://ebay.us/RzXE0O and https://amzn.to/3uHvihR

And if you are looking for the replacement receptacle itself, that would usually be GM 25774623 at: https://ebay.us/2yjSc9 or https://amzn.to/3scXibs but check to be sure as GM made MANY different types of these receptacles. The number I've given here is the more common for 1990s and early 2000s vehicles though.
