A waste of $55,000.

Engine finally replaced by dealer in my Chevrolet Silverado Z71 LT 4wd. Definitely not adding extended warranty after power train warranty ends in November because this truck will have to get the good ole Texas speed cam and aftermarket NON DOD lifters. Chevy was slacking before Covid and even more afterwards especially quality of the lifters and lack of effective heat treatment of certain parts. Chevy has had lifter issues since 2007 but once they started ACTIVE FUEL MANAGEMENT (AFM), things got even worse because that technology would shut off hakf of the engine (4 cylinders) randomly. Then they started DYNAMIC FUEL MANAGEMENT (DFM) in 2019 and things went fully ballistic because this technology has the ability to shut off any random cylinders up to 7 at a time which leaves a guaranteed chance lifters that were already bad will fail.
