India takes a major leap in fighting cybercrime with the launch of the e-Zero FIR system, initiated by the Ministry of Home Affairs and Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C). Home Minister Amit Shah announced that the system will automatically convert eligible cyber fraud complaints into FIRs — without needing to visit a police station.

The pilot rollout has begun in Delhi, focusing on cyber financial crimes above ₹10 lakh. The system will streamline complaint handling, improve response time, and help freeze fraudsters’ accounts quickly. If successful, this model could be replicated nationwide under the Digital India mission.
