The Age of Empires franchise has been around for over 25 years! But why do players still love it so much? In this video I take a look at why players love Age of Empires including AoE1, AoE2, AoE3 and AoE4.

Age of Empires 1 was an incredible innovation in gaming, but it was Age of Empires 2: The Age of Kings that guaranteed the Age of Empires franchise as one of the best of all time! Released during the peak of real time strategy in the late 1990s and early 2000s, RTS games have since declined in popularity but AoE is still going strong. Although not received as well as the previous titles, Age of empires 3 carried the franchise forward and 16 years later, Age of Empires 4 proves that players still love the series and have an interest in real time strategy.

Today in 2022, the jury is out on AoE4 but AoE2 still has a large player base of loyal fans. So why have players stuck around for over 25 years? What makes this franchise so good? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
