Описание к видео Inclusive Music Making | Koichi Samuels | TEDxDurhamUniversity

This March, Koichi was involved in Big Ears 2015 a collaborative effort between SARC and DMI where student musicians, musicians with disabilities, engineers and programmers collaboratively created and developed prototypes of accessible interfaces, and used them to create improvised electronic music performances to a live audience.

Here Koichi discusses inclusivity, creativity and openness in music and how to enable all people to be involved in performing and creating music through digital technology.

Koichi Samuels works with the The Drake Music Project Northern Ireland (DMNI). DMNI is a charity that aims to enable musicians with physical disabilities and learning difficulties to compose and perform their own music through music technology. At DMNI, Koich acts as research leader and access music tutor, specialising in research on inclusive music practices and interfaces. He is also a PhD candidate at the Sonic Arts Research Centre, Queen’s University Belfast.

This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
