Education committee MPs question National Teachers Bill 2024

Members of Parliament on the Education Committee have opposed a move by the Ministry of Education to enact the National Teachers Bill 2024 into law. The MPs say that the bill, which among other ideas seeks to introduce a Teachers’ Council that would license and register teachers, creates more challenges than solutions to the teaching profession in its current form. The MPs have advised the Ministry of Education to make amendments to the Education Act of 2008 rather than introducing another law.
