Fireside Chats with Dr. Edwin Williams: Rib Grafting with Rhinoplasty

This is a middle aged woman who had rhinoplasty many, many years ago. She saw one of Dr. Williams’ colleagues in California who referred the patient to Dr. Williams at his clinic near Albany NY since she had family in New York. Dr. Williams saw the patient and offered her revision rhinoplasty. Her expectations seemed to be very reasonable. Her number one concern was to improve her breathing and to have a nose that fit her face and looked very natural. He felt the only way he could accomplish this was to use rib cartilage grafting to rebuild her nose since she has had so much support lost and not significant cartilage remaining in the nose to build a bridge to their satisfaction.
