The 25th of June marks a year since thousands of young Kenyans took to the streets protesting the controversial finance bill. When Kenya’s president William Ruto passed the bill, protesters stormed parliament and police opened fire on protesters. Currently, 60 deaths related to police violence during these protests are being investigated. Just two weeks ago, the death of a young man in police custody sparked new protests coinciding with the events last year.
