Trying the new rpm filter on the CG with a CL racing F4 (you need to unresource beeper to make it work). Wasn’t pleased with 4.0 rc3 but feels a lot better with the rpm filter. Propwash is still an issue at low speed zero throttle. Much better at high speed.
Feel like the default i gains are way too high for freestyle - feels stiff, so immediately dropped mine significantly, and removed the ton of I gain they keep slapping on yaw. FF needs to be bumped up from your old settings as higher D gain muffles the sticks. Only cli change I made beyond the snippet was to change I term relax to gyro with cutoff 11 to stop bounce back.
Motors were barely warm on 6s and stone cold on 5s. Will try and bump D gain higher from its already high stock levels and increase FF accordingly to see if I can improve propwash. Then begins the long road of changing filter settings....
They really need to simplify this stuff. Too much logging and not enough flying. All this I gain is doing is making for dull lifeless quads. Looks promising for later releases, but if your quads tuned just wait for 4.1 etc when hopefully they’ll have worked some of this stuff out. Theyve acknowledged that a lot of this stuff is for racers, so if you freestyle and like black boxing get on the dev team 😜
