Episode 85: The Erzgebirge: Germany's Magical Christmas Land

Описание к видео Episode 85: The Erzgebirge: Germany's Magical Christmas Land

In today's episodes, we travel to the Erzgebirge (or Ore Mountains) in eastern Germany on the border with the Czech Republic. It is here where the magic of Christmas comes alive with the smell of Gluhwein in the market stalls, the traditional miner's parades (Bergparade), the large pyramids in the town squares, and the famous wooden toys like nutcrackers, candle arches (Schwibbogen), shaved Christmas trees, smokers, and pyramids with candles. Specifically, we travel to Chemnitz (formerly known as Karl-Marx-Stadt), which has been selected as one of 2025 cultural cities in Europe, the mining towns of Freiberg and Schneeberg, the toy-making town of Seiffen, and Annaberg-Buchholz. We explore the famous Christmas markets, witness Bergparades, visit the Toy Museum in Seiffen, and explore 16th century Gothic hall cathedrals. Come join in the adventure and be sure to subscribe to our channel for more upcoming videos on the European Christmas markets.
