I'm not the biggest sports fan. Sure, I've been known to throw a ball around every now and then, but I've never been interested in professional leagues, players, or stats. At the same time, I've grown up playing sports video games, from Blades of Steel on the NES to modern games like the NBA 2K series. This might trigger a lot of people, but I find that the more realistic these sports games become, the less fun and memorable they tend to be. There's something to be said for the simpler, faster, oftentimes more wacky and creative arcade sports titles that allow them to not only stand out, but stand the test of time as well.
