[4K] Converting HOO Palette of NORTH AMERICA NEBULA into "SHO" Palette by Siril (feat. ChatGTP)

This video demonstrates how to step-by-step transform a narrowband one shot camera (OSC) image into Hubble palette or SHO palette images using Siril. Ever dreamt of creating your own breathtaking orange-blue deep sky images? With just a dual bandpass filter, that dream becomes achievable. Traditionally, crafting these captivating palettes requires three narrowband images: SII for red, Ha for green, and OIII for blue. However, lacking data for the red channel presented a challenge for me since I did not have an SII filter.

With guidance from ChatGPT, I obtained a solution: blending Ha and OIII to construct the missing red channel. In this time, I decided to use previous published North America Nebula (NGC 7000) data as a demo (   • [Relaxing] Image Processing of NORTH ...  ). Through meticulous processing in Siril, I was able to generate images that closely resembled the desired Hubble or SHO palette. In addition, it's worth noting that I preserved the natural colors of the stars, opting not to alter their hues.

Additionally, to simplify the process for those unfamiliar with image manipulation software, I utilized ImageJ to compute the average Ha + OIII channel. However, using just the Ha or OIII channel is a viable alternative for those seeking a more simplified approach.
