From CEO to “Moringa Man of India” – Basaiah Hiremath’s Journey to Nourish Koppal. After rising through the ranks in the US as a tech CEO, Basaiah Hiremath returned to his roots in Koppal, Karnataka, driven by a striking global report that named his home district among the worst in child nutrition. Fueled by memories and a deeper calling, he shed his corporate life and turned to a humble, nutrient-rich tree for answers the moringa, long used in local kitchens but now rediscovered for its superfood potential. With ₹2 crore of his savings, he launched a fully organic moringa farm in arid Koppal, deploying modern techniques on barren land to cultivate and process moringa powder, which he first distributed free to malnourished children leading to tangible health improvements.
He formalized his venture into NOFH (Nandi Organic Farm House) in 2016, which achieved organic certification—and today earns ₹5 crore annually through domestic distribution and exports to markets in the US, Europe, Russia, and Southeast Asia.
