Tips for Au Pairs in the Netherlands

If you are currently an au pair in The Netherlands or if you are hoping to become an au pair, these tips are for you! The au pair program is highly regulated by the Dutch immigration authorities, (the IND) and it is mandatory for all au pairs to be registered with a legitimate au pair agency (https://ind.nl/en/public-register-rec...)

If you are suffering abuse or exploitation from your host family:
1. Contact the agency to report it. The agency will investigate - both sides of the story will be heard!
2. Contact the au pair abuse hotline, on 06 10 82 35 94. The lines are only open from 09:30-12pm on weekdays.

How to register? If you wish to become an au pair in The Netherlands, you can register at one of the recognized agencies (FREE OF CHARGE) and they will review your profile. Sunshine Au Pair is looking for au pairs aged 18-25, with childcare training / extensive experience. Good mastery of the English language is also mandatory, to be able to cope with life in the Netherlands.
