Coffee "Africa" is a tart and invigorating drink that combines the rich flavours of coffee, cocoa, and cognac. This unique blend offers a warming sensation with a hint of spice, perfect for a cosy evening or a special occasion. The addition of cinnamon and cocoa enhances the coffee's natural bitterness, while the cognac adds depth and warmth, making it a truly distinctive and satisfying beverage.

Ingredients for 1 portion:

2-3 tsp ground coffee
210 ml (7 fl oz) water
20 ml (2/3 fl oz) cognac
1 tsp cocoa powder
A pinch of ground cinnamon
Sugar to taste

Method:

1. Place freshly ground coffee into a cezve or coffee pot, and pour boiling water over the coffee granules.
2. Bring the drink to a boil and let it steep for a few minutes.
3. Add sugar, cocoa, and cinnamon to the coffee.
4. Heat the drink again slightly without bringing it to a boil. For the most saturated taste, repeat the heating procedure several times.
5. Strain the coffee through a sieve to remove coffee grounds and spice particles.
6. Pour the coffee into a serving cup and add the cognac.
