The Museum of London Archaeology (MOLA) finally studied the remains of a 15-year-old girl, found in a pit at an ancient settlement close to the village in Cambridgeshire in 2016.

The girl was buried face down more than a thousand years ago, with her ankles potentially tied together. It suggests that extra measures were taken to ensure “she could not ‘return’ from the grave”. Like The Bride did from Quentin Tarantino’s movie “Kill Bill”.

But why people were buried like that?
