Navy Veteran and Paws of War Advocate, Mike Sweeney, recently bright his service dog, storm, to visit senior residents and staff at Quantum Rehabilitation and Nursing in Middle Island. Sweeney spoke with residents and shared his story about how Storm and Paws of War helped restore his life after the service and manage his PTSD.

During the heartfelt visit, Sweeney shared his powerful personal journey of recovery and resilience with residents, recounting how Paws of War and his service dog Storm helped him rebuild his life after military service and manage his post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Storm, specially trained to provide emotional and physical support, charmed residents and staff alike during the visit, offering companionship and demonstrating the profound impact service animals can have on veterans' lives.

Sweeney's visit highlighted the life-changing work of Paws of War and the critical role service animals play in helping veterans transition back to civilian life and manage the invisible wounds of war.
