In this short video, I’m walking beside my aging father, who now leans on a cane — and in another clip, he’s in a wheelchair. These simple scenes remind me deeply of what it means to live in the sandwich generation — caught between caring for elderly parents and raising young children under ten.

It’s not always easy. Some days feel like I’m being pulled in two directions — one toward the past that raised me, and one toward the future I’m raising. Yet it’s in these moments that God teaches me what true love and honor look like. The Bible calls us to honor our father and mother (Exodus 20:12) and to bring up our children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4).

When we care for our parents in their weakness and guide our children in their youth, we are not just doing family duties — we are serving the Lord Himself. This is how our generation can worship God with our time, our patience, and our love.

So if you are tired, weary, or stretched thin, remember: every act of care — every walk beside your father, every bedtime story with your kids — is an offering of worship to the God who cares for you.
