In this episode, I am back in the kitchen and I show you how to make a lovely shaped-top dresser. Although I have made mine for a kitchen, I think this dresser would work well in other areas of the house or in a shop setting. It would also look lovely finished in a shabby-chic style.

DRESSER BASE
5 x 5mm (13/64 x 13/64 inch) Strip:
70.5mm (2 25/32 inches) – Cut 4 – LEGS
1.5mm (1/16 inch) Sheet:
90 x 65mm (3 35/64 x 2 33/64 inches) – Cut 1 – BACK
90 x 17.5mm (3 35/64 x 11/16 inches) Cut 1 – BACK MOULDING – TOP
90 x 5mm (3 35/64 x 13/64 inches) – Cut 1 – BACK MOULDING – BOTTOM
42.5 x 5mm (1 43/64 x 13/64 inches) – Cut 1 – BACK MOULDING - VERTICAL
65 x 28mm (2 33/64 x 1 7/64 inches) – Cut 2 – SIDES
28 x 17.5mm (1 7/64 x 11/16 inches) – Cut 2 – SIDE MOULDINGS – TOP
28 x 5mm (1 7/64 x 13/64 inches) – Cut 2 – SIDE MOULDINGS – BOTTOM
90 x 33mm (3 35/64 x 1 19/64 inches) – Cut 2 – TOP & BOTTOM
33 x 16mm (1 19/64 x 5/8 inches) – Cut 2 – DRAWER DIVIDES (Cut with the grain in the direction of the shortest edge).
2.5mm (3/32 inch) Sheet:
90 x 33mm (3 35/64 x 1 19/64 inches) – Cut 1 – SHELF
103 x 39mm (4 1/16 x 1 17/32 inches) – Cut 1 – BASE TOP
DRAWERS (Make 3)
Cut the pieces needed for the drawers after construction of the main unit, to ensure accurate measurements.
1.5mm (1/16 inch) Sheet:
28.5 x 15.5mm (1 1/8 x 39/64 inches) – Cut 2 – FRONT & BACK
29.5 x 15.5mm (1 5/32 x 39/64 inches) – Cut 2 – SIDES
29.5 x 25mm (1 5/32 x 63/64 inches) – Cut 1 – BASE
You will need 0.8mm (1/32 inch) sheet for the drawer mouldings - sizes will be advised within the tutorial.
DOORS
Cut the pieces needed for the doors after construction of the main unit, to ensure accurate measurements.
2.5mm (3/32 inch) Sheet:
43 x 45mm (1 11/16 x 1 49/64 inches) – Cut 2 – DOORS
You will need 0.8mm (1/32 inch) sheet for the door mouldings - sizes will be advised within the tutorial.
DRESSER TOP
1.5mm (1/16 inch) Sheet:
90 x 51mm (3 35/64 x 2 1/64 inches) – Cut 1 – BACK
42 x 30mm (1 21/32 x 1 3/16 inches) – Cut 2 - SIDES
90 x 3mm (3 35/64 x 1/8 inches) – Cut 2 – HORIZONTAL MOULDINGS
23 x 3mm (29/32 x 1/8 inches) – Cut 4 – VERTICAL MOULDINGS
90 x 10mm (3 35/64 x 25/64 inches) – Cut 1 – SHELF
