In this interview, LSE Cities and Urban Age Director Ricky Burdett interviews Richard Florida, urbanist and Professor at the University of Toronto School of Cities and Rotman School of Management. The interview spanned topics such as the renaissance of a more artistic city, the geography of work, density and its positive association with pandemic resilience, and the prospect of the 'roaring 20s' repeating themselves in the aftermath of COVID-19.

This interview is part of our latest Urban Age outreach initiative, the Urban Age Debates: Cities in the 2020s. Building on the success of the Urban Age conferences and research programme, Urban Age Debates: Cities in the 2020s includes a series of live virtual events, newly commissioned short films, interviews with key urban actors and commentators, new data on city dynamics and the results of surveys on how we live, work and connect in the post-2020 city.

Richard Florida was also a panellist on our first Urban Age Debate, ‘Socialising Remote Work.’ You can watch this here:    • Urban Age Debates: Cities in the 2020...
